  • RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Business Development/Planning
    • Work with members employing CoMetrics to initiate participation, facilitate data analysis, and business analysis utilizing data navigation. This will also include regular communication with external CoMetrics personnel to facilitate efficient, effective operation and continual improvement on benchmarking tools and robust communication with cooperative participants through small groups, presentations, and e-mail inquiries.
    • Work with member companies’ Board of Directors and senior staff in development of strategic planning exercises. This would entail working with management and the board of directors to develop strategic plans, creating an environment for a successful local cooperative, recognizing their dynamic business environment.
    • Assist with other needs as required by IIC members. This could include, but not be limited to business plan development, strategic business decisions, merger and unification activities, and organizational planning and compliance issues.
    1. Education/Training
    • Actively collaborate with coworkers and outside resources to develop, coordinate, and facilitate educational programs and engagement with Iowa Institute members.
    • Persistently explore cost-efficient and effective methods to deliver educational and training services to members.
    • Continually pursue new educational and training needs for members while evaluating effectiveness and relevancy of current course offerings.
    1. Communications
    • Develop and maintain effective communication tools to provide value to members
    • Be proactive in developing traditional and non-traditional communication channels benefitting IIC members.
    • Grow the value of membership in member and potential member communications.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    Position Requirements
    1. The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.
    2. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential and mandatory.
    3. The successful candidate will have a professional, mature demeanor and be able to establish stakeholder relations with peers, clients and members.
    4. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to manage their time in a professional manner and work independently.
    5. The successful candidate will support the Iowa Institute for Cooperatives in its mission and the positions established by its members.
    6. The successful candidate must be proficient in the use of a computer including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
    7. The ideal candidate will have experience presenting in-person and virtually.
    8. Familiarity with Iowa cooperatives and knowledge in grain and farm supply cooperatives is preferred.
    9. Experience working with Boards of Directors is preferred.
    10. The candidate must be licensed to drive in the state of Iowa.
    11. Some travel required.
