Job Detail

    Quality of Work
    • Assist with producer grain accounting, settlements, and customer orders at the specified location.
    • Properly weigh and grade grain deliveries.
    • Ensure that scale and testing equipment remains in tolerance and within regulatory compliance.
    • Manage inbound and outbound shipments at current location or other specified locations as required.
    • Efficiently receiving inbound deliveries, managing walk-in and call-in business traffic.
    • Promptly answers all phone calls, voicemails and electronic communications.
    Team Support
    • Assist Key Cooperative’s other departments with customer billing and inventory accounting.
    • Performs the reconciliation of the cash drawer; must understand and be capable of performing month and yearend inventory and extension.
    • Lead by supporting and communicating the Credit Policy of Key Cooperative to customers.
    Customer Service
    • Shows leadership by conveying a positive attitude and image to customers and employees at all times.
    • Inform and encourage customers to consider other Key Cooperative’s products and services.
    • Customer service duties can also include loading bag feed for customers as well as filling small LP cylinders and receiving customer orders for the Petroleum Department.
    Other Responsibilities
    • Records and keeps track of all required information to support accurate reporting.
    • Accept additional responsibilities and duties as directed by your supervisor.

    Education and/or Experience
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Has the ability to learn and understand machinery operation and dry material handling, and to learn grain elevator operations on the job.

Job Description

Key Cooperative is a member-owned, rural Iowa cooperative serving agriculture producers. We are essential business partners through Agronomy, Energy, Grain and Feed.

The Grain / Agronomy Customer Service Rep position is a crucial point of contact with Key Cooperative members, potential customers and marketing channel partners.  This position requires the ability to excel in a chaotic environment while receiving inbound deliveries, managing walk-in and call-in business traffic, and coordinating with other locations and employees to deliver a superior customer service experience.  You will be expected to take the initiative in fulfilling customer needs either directly or by personally transitioning the customer successfully to another staff member.  You will build and need skills in scale operation, grain sampling, and grading, understanding of USDA grain grades and standards, basic accounting and computer skills, public relation skills.  You will also assist with and perform billing duties in the agronomy department; billing all products, ammonia, dry fertilizer, and chemicals.  Also, you will assist with receiving and purchase order paper work for the agronomy department.
